Origin - Customizing Graphs

Origin offers unparalleled customization options for your graphs. All elements of a graph can be edited using context sensitve, intuitive interfaces.

Simply double-click any graph element to bring up a Plot Details dialog box (Figure 1). Specialized tabs dynamically provide control for detailed editing. Additional elements can also be edited by clicking on their associated icons.

When creating similar graphs repeatedly, Origin provides the ability to save graph format settings as a theme, as well as the ability to copy and paste desired format settings immediately from one graph element to another.

Save your customized graph as a template in order to create additional graphs of the same style in the future.

You can also create text and other finishing touches to your graph without having to go to another application.

• Origin provides the ability to create text labels in either in-place editing mode, or through a Text Control dialog box.
• In addition, symbols can be entered into your text labels through a Symbol Map much like the Microsoft® Windows® Character Map.
• Shapes and lines can be created using the many buttons on the Tools toolbar (Figure 2).

Editing the text labels and shapes you create is also very quick and easy. Simply double-click on any object (text label, shape, etc.) to enter in-place edit mode or bring up the object's associated properties dialog box.
